Mission Statement

The Race Liberation Alliance is an Ithaca, NY based organization dedicated to:

• Exposing biological "race" as a social construct and racism as a social reality.
• Undoing racism and other patterns of oppression.
• Providing a safe and supportive if not always comfortable space to talk about race and racism.
• Connecting individuals and organizations that share a common goal of eradicating racism, and creating a just and sustainable community.
• Engaging in action that exposes, replaces, and/or transforms institutions that further ingrain racism and white privilege.
• Supporting sustainability in our community for all of our community members.

Vision Statement

The Race Liberation Alliance of Ithaca, NY recognizes that the concept of race is an illusion while acknowleding that racism is real and directly related to capitalism and economic greed. Looking seven generations ahead, our vision is to build a sustainable community free of racism and other forms of oppression. We wish to become a unified community who shares local resources that provide for everyone's needs, including: health and well being, food and housing, safety and security, religious and spiritual faiths, education and the arts.
